LOVE STORIES is a digital audio trail that takes listeners on a journey through the recently restored South Cliff Gardens. Real-life love stories, told by the people who experienced them, with full orchestral backing and community choir.

We have worked with local communities of Scarborough to gather true love stories inspired by the beautiful gardens of South Cliff. Since February 2023, we have had over 100 submissions via email and letter and led a series of community workshops. We are now working collaboratively with a final community ensemble and storytellers to create five chapters that tell beautiful, moving love stories that have bloomed in this special place between land and sea.

South Cliff Gardens are coastal gardens and woodland with meandering cliff side walks, and lots of places to sit and enjoy the spectacular views. Designed in the early 1900s, with walks, flowerbeds and terraces they have recently undergone a seven million pound restoration project. Come and celebrate one of Scarborough’s most glorious green spaces with us, and enjoy the hidden love stories from within this stunning seaside gem.

LOVE STORIES will be available to stream online and experience for FREE from Monday 24 July and will run to the end of September.

Please note: Supported slots will be available for those without their own devices, or who struggle to navigate downloads. Please check back here soon for more details.
