ARCADE Youth Theatre presents Britney’s Lock by Alexandra Wood as part of National Theatre’s Connections Programme 2026.
ARCADE Youth Theatre was delighted to present Britney’s Lock by Alexandra Wood, a funny and insightful play exploring anxiety, belief, and friendship, performed by young people aged 12-18 from Bridlington.
When Ruby acquires a lock of Britney Spears’ hair as a calming relic to help her through the stress of GCSE mocks, her friends are sceptical. But one by one, they begin to feel its power and want a piece of it for themselves...
Britney’s Lock is a sharp, humorous look at how young people cope under pressure, and how friendship can both support and strain us in times of stress.
Age Guidance: 14+
Content Guidance: Mild sexual references, strong language, and themes of anxiety
