A series of creative workshops for young men and boys in Tadcaster who attend The Barn Youth Centre
10th March-7th April 2026
Following on from their successful exhibition in November 2025, participants of Young in Tad worked with artists Matt Storm and Joel Hague to build ideas for a social enterprise.
This second version of YiT emerged from participants' growing desire to launch their own clothing brand. Across five sessions, they learnt about building a brand- with workshops around commercial photography and brand analysis, ultimately producing a pitch deck and a narrative zine showcasing their ideas
Matt Storm is a freelance photographer working in Whitby, Scarborough and the surrounding areas of North Yorkshire. His documentary photography has enabled him to work with a number of large organisations- including the Youth Hostel Association and Sustrans. He strongly believes we should use our skills to improve the world we live in and focuses some of his photography on working with non-profit organisations to help communities in need.
Based in Scarborough, Joel is an artist and researcher exploring "print" as a queer mode of making. A Design Crafts graduate, their practice applies queer theory to the stewardship of endangered type heritage through a process-led approach. By facilitating zine-making with community groups, Joel utilises printed matter as a vital engine for social connection. This work synthesises archiving and making, celebrating the technical and social narratives of letterpress, ephemera, and grassroots indie publishing.
