At St John's Burlington Church

March - January 2024

In April 2022 we started a new creative group in Bridlington for young women aged 16-25. The group had its roots in our successful Northern Girls project co-produced with Pilot Theatre and we just knew we had to keep working with brilliant women from the area.

In July 2022 the group performed as part of ‘Bunker of Zion‘, a professional National Tour co-produced by ARCADE and the Collaborative Touring Network (CTN).

After the success of the Bunker of Zion and Northern Girls, we continued the group and recently completed a new project for International Women’s Day. The event ‘Goddesses, Witches, and Queens’ was an evening of spoken word, storytelling, and live music at The Queens Hotel in Bridlington. There were live performances by brilliant members of ARCADE's Young Women's Creative Collective who shared the work they’d written. We also had performances by amazing local musicians, Yssi Wombwell & Beth Pilling. The event was hosted by slam poetry award winning artist, Hannah Davies.

Want to join us for our next project? Come along! You don’t need any previous experience, just a positive attitude and a willingness to have a go. Weekly workshops might include writing, performing, movement or song - but everything is creative. It’s a friendly, welcoming, non-judgmental environment - and it is FREE to take part.

We meet on Wednesday evenings from 6pm - 8pm at St John’s Burlington Methodist Church in Bridlington.
